Osaka Day 1

My first time on the Bullet train. We got the free seating tickets not knowing that they do not stop selling even if it is filled. We had to stand for about an hour plus. The worst is we walked into a smoking carriage. Oh well, something I learn on the way. Anyway, the train is really stable. Standing was no problem at all.

This is my hotel in Osaka; Hotel Chuo. Cheap and good; location was the bomb too. Got the Japanese style too.

First stop was Dontonburi - land of Tacopochi and Okonomiyaki.

Lunch was okonomiyaki of course. Osaka has a softer flour, thus making it taste different. There are many to choose from, so just go with your gut - literally.

Lots of intersecting shopping lanes, have fun getting lost.

This is a place where the comedians are, but right now I will probably not understand a single thing.

This thing taste so good, reminds me of kway chup!

This is one expensive read bean soup, but it is DARN GOOD. Can't remember the name of the shop, but it is very famous. It has to be cause it is damn solid stuff.

Lots of stuff to buy back. Giant Pocky etc. Tourist trap which everyone cannot resist.

We walked into a gaming center to find them gambling with fake horses.

Check out the size of those balls. (hurhurhur)

Osaka wants to be different, so they stand on the right side which is different from Tokyo.

Dinner was at a famous Udon place, but it was not as springy as I loved my Udon to be.

Night scenes

We actually walked the surrounding area which has other shopping areas. American street was like Harajuku, then there was another stretch filled with the big brands too.

Osaka has a lot of solar powered stuff, but the funny thing is they are not very big on seperating their thrash. And other weird things are their horrid driving habits (almost made me feel back in Singapore) and very terrible bicycling habits. Very un-Japan.

While you shit, you kid looks at you.

All in one basin...wash, soup and dryer.

Art in their subway. Cool stuff.
