The way of the Japanese market

What is different about the way the Japanese do their Business? Service and the tendency to look into tiny details to win the market. Some examples....

When it rains, the department stalls will wrap your paper bag with a plastic wrapper so it will not get soak. (So much for being environmentally friendly).

Natto usually comes with soya sauce in a seperate packet, but to minimise the trouble, they solidify it. Novelty, but I am a sucker! haha!

The simplest example will be the way they make opening the snacks simpler. Sometimes I wonder why it is not done everywhere.

20 Years Old

12th January was the day the 20 years old have their 成人の日celebration. Which means they have a ceremony to mark becoming an adult. Yeah, they kind finally drink legally etc. The new adult ladies will be in their kimono and the guys will be in suit for a ceremony. During this day, you will see them at Disney too.

Well, none of my concern but I get a public holiday for it. And if you are wondering why I did not take pictures of their faces, I am shy...dont really think they will appreciate me going infront of them and snap away.

Meet ups in Japan

This took a little time, but at least I got to it. I met up with Boonhui and his lovely wife (The fellow with the new house in my previous entry) in Tokyo. I must say both of them was attacking the shopping in Japan like there was no tomorrow. Haha!.

Skipping

I think this is the first time I did this kind of skipping. The union organised this small event and the impromptu group of us gathered for it. Not bad for a bunch who were there to make up the numbers, we got 3rd I think. I won a Bookshop voucher which I used to buy a guide book to Okinawa. Ho ho ho....I wonder where I will be going next.

By the way, the guy in blue is my boss!
